OEUK / OGUK offshore medicals
Every worker mobilising to a UK offshore installation needs a current OEUK medical certificate. The examination — medical history, blood pressure, vision, hearing, spirometry, urinalysis and fitness assessment — takes about 45 minutes, and your certificate (valid up to two years) is normally issued on the day.
Most Central Belt workers currently travel to Aberdeen or Glasgow for this. Our Stirling clinic sits minutes from the M9/M80, making it the convenient option for offshore workers living anywhere between Glasgow and Edinburgh.
ML5 marine medicals
The MCA’s ML5 medical report covers crew on many small commercial vessels and domestic passenger vessels — workboats, wind farm crew transfer vessels, charter and tour boats. We complete the examination and the ML5 form in a single appointment; certificates are normally valid for up to five years.
Renewables & energy fitness assessments
Offshore wind is increasingly staffed by workers who move between oil and gas and renewables. We provide fitness-to-work assessments aligned to renewables requirements — including GWO-style fitness standards for turbine technicians — so crews carry the right certification for both sectors. Employers can combine these with Health Surveillance under a single managed programme.

How long is an OEUK offshore medical valid for?
An OEUK (formerly OGUK) offshore medical certificate is normally valid for up to two years, unless the examining Doctor sets a shorter period for a medical reason. Most operators and duty holders require a current certificate before mobilisation.
What does an OEUK medical involve?
The assessment covers medical history, blood pressure, vision and hearing, lung function (spirometry), urinalysis, BMI and general fitness for offshore work, including the ability to complete survival training. It takes around 45 minutes and the certificate is normally issued on the day.
Who needs an ML5 medical?
The MCA ML5 medical report is required for crew on many small commercial vessels and domestic passenger vessels — workboats, charter vessels and similar. An ML5 certificate is normally valid for up to five years unless a condition requires earlier review.
